Ridgewood School is a community comprehensive school in Scawsby, Doncaster, England. The school is a specialist Engineering college. It accepts pupils from the surrounding areas including Sprotbrough, Sprotbrough village (or Upper Sprotbrough) and Scawsby, pupils from Upper Sprotbrough traditionally went to NDTC, (formerly Adwick Secondary) but now are in the catchment of Ridgewood. It neighbours a special school named New Stone Hill School (formerly known as Anchorage School, previously was a teacher training college) It has five assistant headteachers, Mr Sprack, Mrs Thompson, Mr Goodyear, Mrs Hailes, and Mrs Barker. The school caters to 6th formers who want to do engineering and other technology subjects outside of curriculum. Ridgewood is currently negotiating for a sixth form of its own, planned to be open September 2011. It has a large open playing field towards the back of the site, which is surrounded by open fields used for agriculture to one side of the playing field there is an old railway line, (now abandoned) it is locally known as the track, it runs through Scawsby and Sprotbrough. The schools competes in many sporting and non-sporting events including fishing, cross country, football and netball.
